BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union along with the communities of Barbourville and Knox County, are recognizing October as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and will create a living ribbon on the field at halftime of the Union-Cumberland (Tenn.) football game Saturday.

All those who would like to participate are asked to wear purple or black shirts. The group will meet at the pavilion prior to halftime and then form the living ribbon across Burch/Nau Field. After a the ribbon is formed, a moment of silence will be observed to remember and reflect upon those who have been victims of domestic violence.

Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 12 p.m.
