JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Former Union wide receiver Sean Mackey will continue his playing career as a member of the Jacksonville Sharks of the Arena Football League, the team announced Wednesday.

Mackey played two seasons for the Bulldogs and ranks among the all-time receiving leaders in program history. He registered 62 career catches, placing him 19th in program history. Mackey amassed 804 total receiving yards for an average of 13.0 yards per catch. His 15 career touchdown receptions ranks Mackey fifth all-time.

In 2009, Mackey caught 21 passes for 199 yards in his first year at the school. As a senior in 2010, Mackey broke out as one of the Bulldogs' top offensive threats, leading the team in receptions (41) and receiving touchdowns (11) while ranking second in both yards (605) and yards per game (55.0). He was the 16th player in Bulldog history to record at least 40 catches in a season, and the 11 touchdown catches are second most.

The Jacksonville Sharks are members of the Arena Football League (AFL). The ArenaBowl XXIV and back-to-back South Division Champions play all home games on Sea Best Field at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
