BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union scored a quick sweep of visiting Berea (Ky.) on Tuesday to bring its record to .500 for the first time this season.

After starting off the year 0-5, the Lady Bulldogs have steadily clawed their way back, winning nine of their last 11 matches to pull their record to 12-12 on the year.

The loss drops Berea to 2-14 overall.

Union had little problem in moving past Berea as it posted a 25-8, 25-5, 25-11 sweep.

The Lady Bulldogs registered 11 service aces with Cat Neumann (Louisville, Ky.) collecting five of them, all in the first set. Linsey Ellis (Florence, Ky.) and Paige Moore (Louisville, Ky.) each had two.

Amelia Cantrell (Georgetown, Ky.) had a good night at the night, recording eight kills in 12 attacks with no errors for a .667 hitting percentage. Moore and Vitoria Oliveira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) each had four kills with Moore also contributing eight digs. Gabrielle Kelly (Gillette, Wyo.) helped out with 25 assists and three digs, while Ellis led the team with nine digs.

Union returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 18, when it pays Tennessee Wesleyan a visit in Appalachian Athletic Conference play. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.
