MARS HILL, N.C. -- The Union College cycling team hit the course again this past weekend, when they competed at an event hosted by Mars Hill College.

For the men, Wesley Lamberson (Limestone, Tenn.) captured the downhill, while teammate Bennett Winn finished right behing Lamberson in the event in second. Lamberson was also impressive in the cross country, finishing fourth, while Drake Lindsey finished seventh in that event. 

On the women's side, Elisa Otter placed second in the cross country, followed by teammates Kara Uhl, who finished fifth, and Maria Esswein (Perryville, Mo.), who was ninth. 

Otter also finished fourth in the downhill, while Uhl had a high finish in that event, placing fifth. The last performances of note for the women's team were registered by Catherine Harnden (Ontario, Canada), who finished 10th in the downhill, and fourth in the four-cross.   

The Union cycling team returns to action on Saturday when they ride in Gainesville, Fla. at a race hosted by the University of Florida.
