BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Brass Lantern Game. The big game. Union versus Cumberlands (Ky.). What has happened before means nothing because this is the only game that matters.

Both Union and Cumberlands come limping into Saturday's contest on two-game winless streaks. The Bulldogs are 1-3 overall and 0-0 in the Mid-South Conference West, while the Patriots are 2-2 overall and 0-1 in MSC West play, making this the first time since 2007 neither team was ranked in the NAIA Top 25 at the time of the game.

Although this is a key conference game for both, the big prize is the Brass Lantern, the traveling trophy for the series.

Cumberlands owns a 23-9 record in the series and has won the last five meetings. Union last defeated the Patriots in 2005 when the Bulldogs pulled out a 35-34 decision over then-No. 5 Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky.

Game time is set for 12 p.m. at Burch/Nau Field.
