BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Indiana Tech's Sam Terman scored two goals, as the visiting Warriors held off a late Union College comeback to secure a 2-1 win in NAIA men's soccer action at Burch/Nau Field on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, Union fell to 1-2 on the year, while Indiana Tech improved to 3-1 with the victory.

In the first half, both teams were aggressive, as Indiana Tech out shot Union by an 8-7 margin. In the 19th minute, the Warriors scored the first goal of the afternoon when Terman put a shot into the back of the net from five yards out off a corner. That was the lone score of the first half, as Indiana Tech went into the locker room with a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, the Warriors controlled the pace of play, and scored what turned out the be the decisive goal in the 69th minute, when Terman cashed in for the second time off a Jammar Allison cross to take a 2-0 lead.

Union, however, did not give up. Three minutes later, sophomore Christian Jauregui (Mount Sterling, Ky.) scored his first goal of the season from two yards out. A corner from teammate Chris Elliott (Newport Isle of Wright, England) set up the opportunity, and just like that the Bulldogs had cut the Warriors lead in half.

In the matches waning moments, Union had several chances to knot the contest up, and send things to overtime. This included two free kicks inside of 20 yards in the final two minutes of the game, but the Bulldogs could not score, as Indiana Tech hung on for the one goal win.

Overall, Union out shot Indiana Tech 14-12 in the contest, while both teams took nine corners, apiece. Union goalie Andrew Metcalf (Chester, England) made four saves in net on the day for the Bulldogs.

Union returns to the pitch on Tuesday when they host University of the Cumberlands at Burch/Nau Field. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
