ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- The Union College men's soccer team was picked to finish fourth in the 2011 Appalachian Athletic Conference's preseason poll, as voted on by the league's eight head coaches.

Bryan, the conference's defending champion, is the preseason favorite after garnering 56 points, and all eight first place votes, while Tennessee Wesleyan comes in at second position with 47 points. Milligan was slated third with 44 points, followed by the Bulldogs in fourth, who earned 41 points in the voting.

To round out the rest of the poll, Reinhardt (Ga.) is fifth with 30 points, Montreat (N.C.) sixth with 23, Virginia Intermont seventh with 21 and Bluefield (Va.) eighth with 11.The AAC Tournament is set to begin Nov. 5 with the quarterfinal round, while the semifinal and championship matches will take place Nov. 11-12.

Union open's it's season on Friday, Aug. 26 when they host Emmanuel College at Burch/Nau Field in the 2011 Golden Corral Bulldog Classic . Kickoff for the season opener is set for 12 noon..
