MOBILE, Ala. - Senior Nicolas Ernst and junior Bartos Micher were named as 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes in men's tennis, the NAIA announced recently.

Ernst (Rietheim, Germany) and Micher (Junginen, Germany) are two of 96 honorees in men's tennis.

Belhaven (Miss.) leads all institutions with five members on the list.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
Ernst and Micher helped Union to a No. 10 ranking, an 18-5 overall record, a 4-0 Appalachian Athletic Conference mark and the program's fifth regular-season conference championship in a row.

The Bulldogs advanced to the second round of the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship Tournament as well.
