BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union College women's soccer coach Camila Mendes has announced that Kelsey Jones and Jessica Perkins have signed letters of intent to join the Lady Bulldog program this fall.

Both Jones and Perkins prepped at South Laurel High School in Corbin, Ky.

"I am excited and happy to have both Kelcey and Jessica joining our team for next season," said Mendes. "They're going to add a lot to our program, not only on the soccer field, but off the field as well. They have been great students-athletes at South Laurel, and I'm sure they're going to keep their hard work and great attitude here at Union."

Jones, a forward, started for the last four years on the South Laurel varsity soccer team, earning All-District honors during her junior season. She also played club soccer for the Southern Kentucky Flyers from 2007 through 2009.

Perkins, a midfielder, also started for all four years for the varsity team. She was named regional MVP in both her sophomore and senior season, and was named to the All-District team in her freshman and sophomore campaigns. Perkins also ranked eighth in the entire state of Kentucky in goals scored during her sophomore season after scoring 34 goals. She also clubbed with the Southern Kentucky Flyers from 2007 through 2010.

Union finished the 2010 season with 12-6-1 overall mark and earned a spot in the AAC Conference Tournament semifinals.
