MOBILE, Ala. - Union advanced to the Round of 16 of the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship Tournament for the fifth year in a row after dispatching of Brescia (Ky.) 9-0 ono Tuesday at Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala.

The win improves Union to 18-5 overall, while Brescia ends the year at 14-6.

With the victory, the Bulldogs will face seventh-seeded Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) on Wednesday at 9 a.m. Central.

Against Brescia, Union started out with a leg up as it won two singles matches and onoe doubles match by default.

In the other singles matches, Nicolas Ernst (Rietheim, Germany) dispatched Thiago Mastroianni in straight sets, winning 6-2, 6-4. Yvon Haessig (Vancouver, Canada) defeated Jacob Blevins 6-2, 6-2. Meanwhile, Bartos Micher (Junginen, Germany) and Fredrik Graaner (Stavanger, Norway) breezed through their singles matches by the identical scores of 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Ernst and Pierre Vernin (Le Coteau, France) won their match 8-2 over Mastroianni/Blevin, while Graaner and Gilles Cornelis (Wijnegem, Belgium) posted an 8-0 victory over Logan Stull/Isaac Duncan.
