BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union swimming coach Rafael Forti has announced that Travis Strachan has signed a letter of intent to join the Union program this fall.

Strachan, a native of Freeport, Bahamas, will swim freestyle events for the Bulldogs.

"I am happy to have Travis joining our program," said Forti. "He has a tremendous potential for the sprint events. He has competed well during his high school career in Georgia, won state on his senior year, and I know he will make a positive impact right away in our program."

Strachan prepped at Rabun-Gap Nacoochee School in Rabun Gap, Ga., where he was the schools MVP twice and captured a Georgia State Championship. He also clubbed with RGNS Swim and FAC

Travis, the son of Sheari and Patrick Strachan, plans to major in pre-engineering at Union.
