ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Nicolas Ernst and Patricia Nardy are the Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

This is the third time Ernst (Rietheim, Germany) received this award, while this is Nardy's (Sao Paulo, Brazil) first honor.

Ernst helped Union to a 9-0 victory over Reinhardt (Ga.) last week, winning both his singles and doubles match. He won 6-0, 6-1 in singles action, while posting an 8-1 decision in doubles.

Nardy scored the match-clinching point against Reinhardt to lift the Lady Bulldogs to their first win of the season. Nardy posted a 6-4, 7-6 decision for Union's fifth point and the win. The Lady Bulldogs won the match 6-3.

The Bulldogs are 15-4 overall, while the Lady Bulldogs are now 2-8.

Both teams return to action at the NAIA Unaffiliated Group Tournament in Chattanooga, Tenn., on April 28-29 for the right to qualify for the NAIA National Championship Tournament.
