ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Union (Ky.) swept the Appalachian Athletic Conference tennis weekly honors with Nicolas Ernst earning the men's award and Diane Proteau the women's, the league announced.

This is the second time Ernst has received the award, but it's Proteau's first honor.

Ernst, a senior from Rietheim, Germany, won both of his singles and doubles matches this week as Union recorded a pair of AAC victories. In an 8-1 win at Tennessee Wesleyan, he won 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 in singles play and 8-5 in doubles. Against Milligan (Tenn.), Ernst posted a 6-2, 6-3 singles victory and an 8-1 doubles win as the Bulldogs won 9-0.

The Bulldogs are 13-4 overall and 2-0 in the AAC.

Proteau, a freshman from Bussy Saint Georges, France, won both of her singles matches in spite of the Lady Bulldogs dropping both matches. Against Tennessee Wesleyan, she won 2-6, 6-3, 1-0. Proteau posted an 8-4 win in singles play versus Milligan.

The Lady Bulldogs are 0-9 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
