BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union College head swimming coach Rafael Forti has announced that Jeffery Snider has signed a letter of intent to join the program this fall.

Snider, a native of Danville, Ky., plans to swim freestyle events for the Bulldogs.

"I am happy that Jeffrey chose to continue his academic and swimming careers at Union College," said Forti.  "He brings in much needed depth to our men's sprint freestyle events and relays. Jeffrey comes from a good club team where he received quality coaching and it will help his transition to the collegiate level to be smoother. I am looking forward to see how fast he can be once he starts practicing with us."

Snider prepped at Boyle County high school, where he served as the captain of the swim team the last two seasons. There, he was a two-time sectional qualifier and was also a state qualifier. He also broke two school records and earned a regional sportsmanship award. Snider has also swam with the Bluegrass Marlins club team the last few seasons.

Snider, the son of Mitch and Connie Snider, plans to major in athletic training at Union.
