OMAHA, Neb. - The 11th-ranked Union men's tennis team continued its winning ways as the Bulldogs posted a 9-0 decision over NCAA Division II Nebraska-Omaha on Tuesday.

The win is the eighth in a row for Union, which is now 10-3 on the year. Nebraska-Omaha is 5-5 overall.

Union won two of the three doubles matches 8-1. Bartos Micher (Junginen, Germany) and Gilles Cornelis (Wijnegem, Belgium) had a little problem with the Mavs' Eric McKnight and Anthony Forcucci but still pulled out the 8-6 victory.

In singles play, Nicolas Ernst (Rietheim, Germany) posted a 6-4, 6-4 win over Drew Mercier, while Yvon Haessig (Vancouver, Canada) defeated McKnight 6-2, 6-3. Pierre Vernin (Le Coteau, France) delivered a hard-fought 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) win against Matt Frost, and Micher upended Forcucci by a count of 6-3, 6-1.

Fredrik Graaner (Stavanger, Norway) nearly shut out Brandon Otoski with a 6-0, 6-1 decision, and Cornelis notched a 6-1, 6-3 win over Andrew Lescelius.

The Bulldogs are now 4-0 this season against NCAA Division II squads and 1-2 versus NCAA Division I teams.

However, the road gets tougher as Union will play at Northwest Missouri State, which is ranked No. 19 in NCAA Division II play. The match is set for Wednesday at 3 p.m.
