BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – For the second-straight week, the Union College men’s cross country team is fifth in the NAIA Region XII rankings the organization announced Monday.

Union was off this past weekend in preparation for the AAC/Region XII Cross Country Championship at Sycamore Shoals State Park in Elizabethton, Tenn. Saturday morning. The last time the Bulldogs raced was when they tied for 14th at the Southeastern Classic in Nashville, Tenn. October 20. Union shared 14th place with Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Covenant (Ga.) College at the Southeastern Classic.

The rankings remained the same from last week with Bryan (Tenn.) College holding the No. 1 spot with Milligan (Tenn.) College, King (Tenn.) College and Covenant from second to fourth, respectively and Union fifth.

UVa-Wise is sixth followed by Berea (Ky.) College, St. Louis College of Pharmacy (Mo.), Southern Virginia University and Tennessee Wesleyan College.

Saturday’s AAC/Region XII Cross Country Championship is set to begin at 9:15 a.m. for the 8k race. The Region XII champion will earn a birth to the NAIA Cross Country National Championship on November 17 in Kenosha, Wis.
