DAYTON, Tenn. - Union led from wire-to-wire as it closed out the regular season with a 69-54 Appalachian Athletic Conference victory over host Bryan (Tenn.) on Saturday.

Junior Kara Pile (Fairdale, Ky.) scored a game-high 17 points, hitting 3-for-4 shots from 3-point range. Pile also had five rebounds and four steals. Wendi Messer (Barbourville, Ky.) added 13 points with Alyson Roberts (Baxter, Tenn.) knocking in 10 points.

The Lady Bulldogs led by as much as 12 points in the first half, but the Lady Lions (10-19 overall, 2-12 AAC) cut the margin to 36-29 by halftime.

In the second half, Union used a 20-10 stretch to open up a 59-42 advantage with 5:33 remaining in the game. Bryan cut the margin to 11 but could not get any closer as Union posted the 69-54 victory.

Anna Thomas was the lone Lady Lion to score in double figures as she finished with 10 points.

Amber Taylor (Clinton, Tenn.) had a solid all-around game, scoring nine points, grabbing six rebounds and five assists.

Union finishes the regular season with a 17-12 overall record and a 7-7 AAC mark.

The Lady Bulldogs will next play in the AAC Tournament, which will begin on Tuesday. The pairings will be announced Sunday.
