BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union College women's soccer players Olivia Brock, Stephanie Cagle and Nikki Jeck were named 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes on Friday.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

Cagle (Independence, Ky.), a junior, adds this honor to two other Appalachian Athletic Conference honors she earned last month, as she was named to the All-Conference second team and to the AAC's All-Academic Squad.

A midfielder, Cagle started and played in all 19 matches the Lady Bulldogs participated in on the year, scoring five goals and recording three assists.

Brock (Hebron, Ky.), a junior, also earned a spot on the AAC's all-academic squad in 2010. She played in 17 matched on the season, starting one match in the Lady Bulldog midfield.

Jeck (Richmond, Ky.), a sophomore midfielder, played in 17 games on the year, making three starts. She scored a goal and recorded three assists on the season and was also named to the AAC All-Academic squad.

In all, the AAC had 13 student-athletes named to the team. To view the full list, click here.
