BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union seniors Armond Smith and Cordaryl Strickland have some more football play as they will participate in the D-III Senior Classic on Friday in Salem, Va.

The Bulldog duo will suit of the South squad.

Smith (Stone Mountain, Ga.) earned Mid-South Conference West Offensive Player of the Year honors as he led the conference in rushing, averaging 125.1 yards per game en route to being named MSC West Offensive Player of the Year. He also led all running backs with 16 rushing touchdowns. Smith was MSC Offensive Player of the Week twice during the season and MSC Special Teams Player of the Week once.

During the season, Smith set numerous program records including most rushing yards in a game (312), most rushing yards in a season (1,376), most rushing touchdowns in a game (five), most rushing touchdowns in a season (16), most points scored in a game (30) and most points scored in a season (102 - 16 rushing touchdowns and one kickoff return touchdown).

Strickland (LaGrange, Ga.) led Union with three interceptions to go along with two pass breakups. The 6-foot defensive back recorded 28 total tackles with 18 solo stops. Against Kentucky Christian, Strickland picked off two passes. He also registered a season-high three tackles four times.

The game will be played a Salem Stadium, which was built in 1985 and has been the home of the NCAA Division III Football Championship game since 1993. It holds 7,157 people. Since the Stagg Bowl debuted in southwest Virginia, the stadium has undergone a number of improvements to better accommodate both players and fans, including new lights, an expanded press box, and the installation of synthetic Field Turf.

The D-III Senior Classic will be played Friday at 7 p.m.
