BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union junior Aurelie Hascoet will begin the 2011 season the 31st-ranked singles player in the NAIA, according to the rankings recently released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

The Tham, France, native finished the 2010 campaign as the No. 28 singles player after not making the top 50 in the first two rankings.

Hascoet captured the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Year award last season in spite of the Lady Bulldogs' overall record of 3-13. Hascoet lost only one singles match last season and posted victories against NCAA Division I Western Kentucky's top singles player as well as Lindsey Wilson's Trina Slapeka, who was ranked 13th at the time.

Union will open the 2011 regular season in February.
