BEREA, Ky. - Junior Rebecca Gray nearly recorded a double-double as she paced Union with 23 points and nine rebounds in the Lady Bulldogs' 87-69 win over host Berea (Ky.) in the Berea Pepsi Classic on Saturday.

The win extended Union's win streak to six game, upping its overall record to 7-1. Berea dropped to 1-7 on the year.

Gray (Georgetown, Ky.) went 5-for-7 from the field and 3-of-5 from 3-point range, but she did her greatest damage at the foul line in going 10-for-11. She also led the team with five assists.

Union led 50-28 at the half, but Berea made a bit of a run in the second half as it cut the deficit to 13 points. But the Lady Bulldogs used a late surge to wrap up the 87-69 victory.

Turnovers and missed free throws were the Lady Mountaineers biggest nemesis. Berea turned the ball over 34 times and went 23-for-40 from the charity stripe.

After Gray, Wendi Messer (Barbourville, Ky.) and Capri Savage (Orofino, Idaho) netted 11 points apiece for Union.

Emily Hinkson led Berea with 14 points with Stephanie Householder and Ebony Inskeep posted 13 and 11 points, respectively.

The Lady Bulldogs return to action Friday and Saturday when it plays in the Sienna Heights (Mich.) Classic. Union will take on host Sienna Heights on Friday at 8 p.m.
