BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union senior Armond Smith has been named the Mid-South Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Smith scored on a 77-yard kickoff return on Saturday to earn MSC Special Teams Player of the Week. Earlier this season, he earned MSC Offensive Player of the Week as well as the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week.

The Stone Mountain, Ga., senior running back averaged 45.5 yards per kickoff return to help Union to a 37-31 win over Shorter College. In addition to his kickoff return duties, Smith rushed for 96 yards on 17 carries. His touchdown gives Smith 14 scores this season - second most in the MSC this season.

Smith ranks sixth in the MSC averaging 24.1 yards per return.

Union improves to 6-4 overall this season and 3-2 in the MSC West Division. Union plays host to Faulkner.
