BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- The Union men's basketball team dropped an 82-73 decision to Indiana University-East on Saturday afternoon at Robsion Arena.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 0-2 on the season, while Indiana-East improved to 3-0 on the year with the win.

"I'm a bit disappointed in our effort this afternoon," said Bulldog head coach Sean Gillespie. "We need some of our upperclassman to show some more leadership and we need to do a better job preparing to play."

In the first half, Indiana-East jumped out to a 40-26 lead going into the locker room and were led  in the period by Tyler Rigby, who poured in 21 points in the period to lead the way. Union was led by Vince Coleman (Columbus, Ohio) who scored seven points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field.

In the second half, Indiana East extended their lead to 48-26 three minutes into the period and never looked back, as the closest the Bulldogs got to the Indiana-East lead the rest of the afternoon was seven points. The Bulldogs did, however, outscore IU-East 47-42 in the period.

Overall, Coleman led Union with a 15 points, while Ian Davis (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and Madison Johnson (Corbin, Ky.) each scored 13 points in the losing effort (Davis also pulled down nine rebounds). Meanwhile, Turrell Morris (Columbus, Ohio) had 12 points and nabbed eight rebounds. For IU-East, Rigby led all scorers with 31 points.

Union returns to action on Tuesday night when they host Indiana Wesleyan at Robsion Arena. Action gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
