BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Senior Ashley Hall scored a pair of goals within the first seven minutes of the game to propel No. 2 seed Union to a 3-0 Appalachian Athletic Conference quarterfinal match over seventh-seeded Montreat (N.C.) Saturday.

With the win, the Lady Bulldogs (12-6 overall) advance to the semifinal round to face the winner of the game between No. 3 Milligan (Tenn.) and No. 6 Bluefield (Va.). The semifinal and championship matches will be held at top-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan on Nov. 12-13.

Hall (Hazard, Ky.) netted the game's first goal in the second minute off a free kick by Renata Peixoto (Brasilia, Brazil) to make it 1-0.

In the 7th minute, Hall banged home a rebound to put Union up 2-0 after Montreat goalkeeper Sarah McGuirt could not corral the save.

Jenn Sckirl (Edmonton, Canada) made it a 3-0 game as she powered home a 12-yard shot off an assist from Stephanie Cagle (Independence, Ky.) in the 21st minute.

From that point on, Union kept Montreat at bay and cruised to the 3-0 AAC Tournament victory.

Patricia Nardy (Sao Paulo, Brazil) played in goal for the first half and made three saves. Nichole Grindler (Manteno,Ill.) played in net in the second half but did not need to make a save. 

McGuirt had seven saves in goal for Montreat, which ends the season with a record of 1-15-2.
