BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union women's soccer players Renata Peixoto and Patricia Nardy were named the Appalachian Athletic Conference's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, on Monday.

Peixoto (Brasillia, Brazil) led the Lady Bulldogs on the offensive end on the week, which included a 1-0 win at Tennessee Wesleyan on Wednesday and a 4-1 victory over Missouri Baptist on Saturday.

Peixoto scored once on the week, but her score was a crucial one, as she netted the game-winner in the Tennessee Wesleyan match. The goal was her ninth of the season, which ranks second on the squad. In the Missouri Baptist match, Peixoto recorded her sixth assist of the season, which is a team-best.

Nardy (Sao Paulo, Brazil) had an impressive week in net, as she did not allow a goal in both matches (she was pulled in the 73rd minute of the Missouri Baptist with the score at 3-0).

Total, Nardy made 10 saves on the week (six against Tennessee Wesleyan and four against Missouri Baptist) and got into the act on the offensive end in the Missouri Baptist match when she scored a goal on a successful penalty kick.

Overall, Nardy has a 1.47 goals against average and made 102 saves.

Union returns to the pitch on Saturday when they host Cincinnati Christian at Burch-Nau Field on senior day. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
