BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - On the heels of his record-setting performance, Union senior running back Armond Smith landed a spot in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" section.

Smith (Stone Mountain, Ga.) is among six persons featured in the October 18 edition.

All Smith did to receive the recognition was set school records for most rushing yards and touchdowns and points in a game in last week's 84-55 win over Bethel (Tenn.). Smith ran for 312 yards yards and five touchdowns on 16 carries, accounting for 30 of the Bulldogs' points.

For his effort, Smith was named the Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week and the Victory Sports Network Offensive Player of the Week.

On the season, Smith leads the team in rushing with 715 yards and eight touchdowns on 56 carries. He ranks sixth in the NAIA in total rushing yards, seventh in rushing yards per game (119.2), 11th in all-purpose yards (929) and 12th in all-purpose yards per game (154.8).
