BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union College football team ranks high in several statistical categories in the Mid-South Conference and NAIA with senior linebacker Patrick O'Neal leading the way.

O'Neal (Lula, Ga.) leads the Mid-South Conference in tackles and is second in the NAIA with a 12.4 tackle per game average. Additionally, he is tied for fourth in the MSC in fumbles forced at 0.3 per contest.

Senior quarterback Joey Waters (McDonough, Ga.) is in the Top 20 in the NAIA in three categories. He's eighth in the nation (second in the MSC) in passing with a 280.4 yards-per-game average, while ranking second in the conference and ninth in the NAIA in total offense at 269.6 yards per game. Waters is also 19th in the NAIA in pass efficiency at 137.2.

Wide receiver Kyle Callahan (Covington, Ky.) is second in the MSC and 12th in NAIA in receptions per game at 6.5 with 39 in six games. Wideout Shawn Kelly (Owenton, Ky.) is third in the league and 17th in the nation at 6.1 catches per game with 43 in seven outings. Callahan and Kelly rank sixth and seventh, respectively, in the conference in receiving yards per game. Callahan averages 81.5 receiving yards, while Kelly is averaging 77.7.

Defensive back Ty Harris (Monroe,Ga.) is 20th in the NAIA and second in the MSC in passes defended with 1.3 per game. He is also sixth in the conference in interceptions per game at 0.4 with three in seven games.

Running back Terence Pollock (Orange Park, Fla.) ranks eighth in the league in rushing with a 70.3 yards-per-game average with 422 yards in six games.

Punter/kicker James Hager (Micanopy, Fla.) is ranked in the Top 10 in a number of categories. He is sixth in kick scoring at 4.7 points per game, third in field goals at 0.7 per game, seventh in field-goal percentage (0.556), ninth in PAT kicking (0.900), and sixth in punting (38.5 yards per game).

Defensive back Marekus Smith (Lithonia, Ga.) ranks seventh in the MSC in tackles for a loss with 1.2 per game.

As a team, Union ranks fifth in the MSC and 16th in the NAIA in total offense (378.0 yards per game), third in the MSC and 10th in the NAIA in pass offense (286.1 yards per game), and fifth in the MSC in total defense, allowing 361.0 yards per game.

Union (2-5 overall, 0-2 MSC) travels to NCAA Division III Frostburg State (Md.) University Saturday at a 1 p.m. showdown.
