WALESKA, Ga. - Union collected its third win in a row Saturday with 2-1 Appalachian Athletic Conference victory over host Reinhardt (Ga.).

"We played very well, but I feel very fortunate to come out of here with the win," said Union coach Jason Lanham. "Reinhardt is a very good team, and they made things difficult for us."

The Lady Bulldogs evened their overall record to 4-4 while going to 1-0 in conference play. Meanwhile, Reinhardt drops to 2-2-2 overall and 0-1 in the AAC.

Union took the early advantage when Ashley Hall (Hazard, Ky.) scored four minutes into the game for a 1-0 advantage.

It remained a one-goal game until the 67th minute when Renata Peixoto (Brasilia, Brazil) fired a 30-yard missile off a free kick into the back of the net for a 2-0 cushion.

Not ready to quit, Reinhardt made things interesting as Katelyn Prester scored to cut the margin to 2-1. However, the Lady Eagles could not come up with the equalizer as the Lady Bulldogs held on for the win.

Union goalkeeper Patricia Nardy (Sao Paulo, Brazil) came up with 10 saves, while her counterpart Chelsea Bettis recorded four.

The Lady Bulldogs return to action Wednesday when they play at Georgetown (Ky.) at 6 p.m.
