PULASKI, Tenn. - It wasn't the best outcome he hoped for, but Union head coach Jason Lanham is pleased with what he saw out the Lady Bulldogs in spite of the 2-0 defeat to host and No. 6 Martin Methodist (Tenn.) Sunday.

"We played very well today. We stood toe to toe with them and really looked good against one of the NAIA's top programs," the Lady Bulldog coach said.

The loss dropped Union to 1-3 on the season, while Martin Methodist is now 2-0-1.

Both of the Redhawks' goals came in the first half.

"One happened because we made a mistake," said Lanham, "and the other was because they are so very good and talented."

Union returns to action Thursday when it hosts Campbellsville (Ky.) at 2 p.m.
