WILMORE, Ky. - Host Asbury (Ky.) took Union to the limit, but the Lady Bulldogs came away with the thrilling 3-2 decision Thursday for their second win in a row.

The Lady Eagles took the first set 28-26 before the Lady Bulldogs evened the match at a set a piece with a 25-23 decision. Union won the third set 25-19, yet Asbury netted a 26-24 victory in the fourth to force a fifth and decisive frame.

Union wrapped up the hard-fought victory with a 15-11 outcome in the final set, improving its overall record to 3-3.

The loss dropped Asbury to 2-1 on the year.

Senior Monica Moreland (Louisville, Ky.) posted season highs in assists and digs with 51 and 21, respectively, while freshman Karina Ramos (Presidente, Brazil) delivered 21 kills and made 26 digs.

Cat Neumann (Louisville, Ky.) registered a season-high 13 kills with Amelia Cantrell (Georgetown, Ky.) adding seven kills. Amanda Silva (Londrina, Brazil) recorded 28 digs.

Union will play its home and Appalachian Athletic Conference opener Saturday when Reinhardt (Ga.) comes to town for a 1 p.m. date. Last season, the Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Eagles twice, winning 3-1 at Robsion Arena and 3-0 on the road.
