BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union College men's basketball program announced today the signing of local Knox Central High School standout Cody Miller to its program for the 2010-11 campaign.

Miller, a 6-foot-6 forward, finished his career at Knox Central as the school's all-time leading scorer, amassing 2,667 career points. Cody also led his squad to three straight 51st district championships (2007-09) to go along with earning Region-XIII first team honors three times.

In his junior season, Miller gained state recognition, earning All-State Honorable Mention honors. On the season Miller averaged 20.9 points a game to go along with just under 10 boards per game (9.4).

For his senior year, Miller finished the campaign averaging a double-double, netting 22.3 points a game to go along with his average of 10.2 rebounds per contest.

"I chose Union because I really liked the school and it felt like the best fit for me. I honestly think it is the perfect place for me," commented Miller after signing hit letter of intent. "I also like the fact my friends and family will be able to see me play at the next level for the Bulldogs."

"We are very excited to have Cody commit to Union College and the Bulldog basketball program," head coach Sean Gillespie said. "It is great to get a local athlete of Cody's caliber. His skill set on the perimeter will be a nice fit for us and what we are trying to do. We are working hard to build our program with four year kids and he will fit in socially, athletically and academically."
