MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. - No. 24 Union collected a 9-7 win over Milligan (Tenn.) Sunday to win the Appalachian Athletic Conference series by taking two of three games.

With the win, Union is now 31-12 overall and 16-5 in the AAC. Milligan falls to 26-14 overall and 14-7 in conference play.

The Bulldogs return to action Wednesday at Georgetown (Ky.). Game time is set for 6 p.m.

Much of the scoring happened early on with the teams combining for 12 runs through the first four innings. Union scored three in the second, one in the third and four in the fourth while Milligan posted two runs in the second, one in each the third and fourth innings as the Bulldogs built an 8-4 advantage.

During Union's four-run fourth, Troy Sitton (Cobden, Ill.) lined a two-run double.

Milligan cut the deficit to 8-5 in the fifth when Eric Oxley scored on a wild pitch.

In the seventh, a Ryan Satterlee (Youngstown, Ohio) lined a run-scoring double to up Union's lead to 9-5.

The Buffaloes tried to rally in the ninth, but they pushed only two runs across to make the final 9-7. Kendall Williams lined a run-scoring triple and later scored on a sac fly.

Sitton led Union offensively in going 3-for-5 with two RBIs. The Bulldogs only had nine hits with only Sitton collecting more than one. Union was helped out by six Milligan errors.

Jason Parsons (Hamilton, Ohio) came in relief and tossed the final seven innings to get the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up four earned runs on seven hits and one walk with nine strikeouts.

For Milligan, Williams went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two driven in.
