WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - Union collected its first victory of the season, defeating visiting Reinhardt (Ga.) 8-1 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play in Williamsburg, Ky.

The match was played at Cumberlands' (Ky.) tennis courts since they were dry and readily playable.

Union improves to 1-7 overall and 1-1 in conference play following the win, while Reinhardt drops to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the AAC.

In doubles action, Aurelie Hascoet (Tham, France) and Ximena Aguilar (Morelia, Mexico) teamed up to defeat Kayla Spivey and Courtney Garrett 8-0. The Lady Bulldogs won the other two doubles matches by virtue of a forfeit.

Hascoet downed Spivey 6-0, 6-1 in singles play, while Aguilar won her match 6-0, 6-0 over Garrett.

Lauren Long notched the only win for Reinhardt as she defeated Kacee Bargo (Barbourville, Ky.) 6-0, 6-3.

Union won the remaining three singles matches by forfeit.

The Lady Bulldogs return to action Wednesday when they visit Asbury (Ky.) at 4 p.m.
