WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - A trio of Bulldogs provided solid pitching performances as No. 16 Union notched a 2-0 victory over host Cumberlands (Ky.) Sunday.

Union (8-6 overall) was outhit 9-7, but the Bulldogs pushed two runs against while the Patriots (9-4 overall) strandled 10 men on base.

Robby LeClair (Pleasanton, Calif.) picked up his first win of the season in going 6 2/3 innings and allowing no runs on eight hits and two walks with six strikeouts.

In the seventh with Union up 2-0, Tyler Jones (Bowling Green, Ky.) got the Bulldogs out of a tough jam. Cumberlands had runners on first and second with one out and the top of the Patriot lineup coming up. But Jones got Jake Martin to pop out to left-center field and Evan Bennett to fly out to center to end the threat.

Lucas Henson (Corbin, Ky.) completed the final two innings to record his first save of the season, tossing two perfect innings with two strikeouts.

The Bulldogs scored in the top of the first when Ryan Satterlee (Youngstown, Ohio) lined a one-out double and moved to third on a Brandon Hedrick (Corbin, Ky.) groundout. He acted as if he was going to steal home, causing Sean Mahley to balk which allowed Sattterlee to score the game's first run.

Union took a 2-0 lead in the fifth when Steve Schleek's (Kansas City, Mo.) two-out single drove in Troy Sitton (Cobden, Ill.).

Although he didn't score or drive in a run, Josh Longbrake (St. Cloud, Fla.) had the best day at the plate for Union in going 3-for-4 with a double.

The Bulldogs return to action when it visits St. Catharine (Ky.) for a nine-inning contest. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
