BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College freshman Louis Glavinos Jr. earned the Appalachian Swimming Conference Male Swimmer of the Week honor following his strong performance at the Asbury (Ky.) College Invitational, the league announced.

Glavinos (Mount Washington, Ky.) is the third Union swimmer to receive the award, joining David Johnson (Louisville, Ky.) and Molly Fittro (Seaside, Calif.).

Glavinos won all of his three individual events at the Asbury Invite on Dec. 4-5. He won the 100 Butterfly in 54.46 seconds, 100 Backstroke in 53.61 seconds and 200 Backstroke in 1:57.88, hitting NAIA National Championship Meet Qualifying Times in all three.

In addition, Glavinos was also part of all five relay teams in the meet where he helped Union win four of them. All five relay times were "A" NAIA qualifying times.

During the meet, he helped to reset four pool records in 100 and 200 Backstroke, and 200 Freestyle and 200 Medley relays.

Union will next compete on Jan. 23 at Campbellsville (Ky.) University.
