KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College juniors Patricia Nardy and Marcela Salum landed on the 2009 NAIA Women's Soccer All-American Team, the NAIA announced Saturday.

Salum (Guatemala City, Guatemala) made the Third Team, while Nardy (Sao Paulo, Brazil) earned an Honorable Mention.

The duo are are the 20th and 21st Lady Bulldogs to make the NAIA All-American Team. Union has had four First Team members, one Second Team member, two Third Team members and 12 Honorable Mentions.

Nardy, a goalkeeper, posted a 14-1-1 overall record with four shutouts and was a part of three other shutouts. She made 86 total saves and allowed 12 goals for a 0.815 goals-against average. Nardy was the Appalachian Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and was on the All-AAC First Team.

Salum, a forward, posted a team-best 17 goals and had seven assists and 41 points. She was the AAC Player and Offensive Player of the Year as well as an All-AAC First Team selection.

Union won the AAC regular-season and tournament championships to advance to the NAIA National Championship Tournament for the first time since 2003. The Lady Bulldogs went 16-3-1 overall and 7-0 in conference play.
