KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College collected 20 votes in the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the NAIA announced Monday.

The Lady Bulldogs are 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.

Northwestern College (Iowa) takes over as the No. 1 team in the country in the NAIA Top 25 Poll. The Red Raiders received 10 first place votes and 400 total points to claim the top spot. The top-five is rounded out by No. 2 Davenport University (Mich.), No. 3 Hastings College (Neb.), No. 4 Shawnee State University (Ohio) and No. 5 Indiana Wesleyan University.

The Great Plains Athletic Conference boasts five nationally-ranked teams, including two of the top three in Northwestern and Hastings. No. 9 Mount Marty (S.D.) jumps into the poll after being previously un-ranked in the preseason poll. Preseason No. 1 Morningside (Iowa) drops all the way to No. 15 after starting the season 7-4, Morningside had spent the previous 13 polls as the nation's top-ranked team. No. 21 Briar Cliff (Iowa) also joins the Top 25 this week after not receiving votes in the preseason.

The Mid-Central College Conference has four nationally ranked schools Indiana Wesleyan, No. 11 Bethel (Ind.), No. 17 Taylor (Ind.) and No. 23 Saint Francis (Ind.). The Dakota Athletic Conference is also represented by four schools: No. 6 Jamestown (N.D.), No. 8 Black Hills State (S.D.), No. 13 Minot State (N.D.) and No. 25 Dickinson State (N.D.).

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences. The next regular-season poll will be announced on Dec. 7.

Union will pay Milligan (Tenn.) College a visit Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
