RIO GRANDE, Ohio - Union College dropped to 0-3 on the season after suffering a 72-63 loss to Taylor (Ind.) University Friday in the Bevo Francis Classic at the University of Rio Grande (Ohio).

The Trojans improved to 3-0 overall.

Union only trailed 37-35 at the half, but the Bulldogs couldn't make up any ground in the second half as the Trojans outscored them 35-28 in the period en route to the nine-point win.

Kearny Demus (Lexington, Ky.) led Union with 14 points with Payton Ponzer (Independence, Ky.) following with 13. Beau Brown (Athens, Tenn.) added 10 points.

Casey Coons paced Taylor with 19 points, while Tommy Peller and Nate Kasper scored 18 and 13 points, respectively. Scott Gill chipped in 10 points.

Union will face Ohio University Chillicothe at 1 p.m. Saturday
