COLUMBIA, Ky. - Union College suffered its first loss of the season as host Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College recorded the 72-51 victory Saturday.

Union dropped to 1-1 overall following the defeat, while Lindsey Wilson improved to 1-0.

The Lady Raiders are ranked No. 17 in the NAIA Division I Preseason Poll.

Union struggled to get its shots to fall as it made just 32.2 percent (19-of-59 shots) from the field and went 5-for-27 (18.5 percent) from long range. Lindsey Wilson, meanwhile, connected on 26-of-62 shots (41.9 percent) from the field to overcome a 1-for-10 performance (10.0 percent) from 3-point range.

The Lady Raiders led 32-22 at the half and outscored the Lady Bulldogs 40-27 during the final 20 minutes en route to the 21-point victory.

Brooke Smith (Pineville, Ky.) led Union with 18 points.

For Lindsey Wilson, four player hit double figures with Sierra Rambert's 16 points setting the pace.

Union returns to action Friday against Emmanuel (Ga.) College at the Tennessee Wesleyan College Classic in Athens, Tenn. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
