NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Darrell Jackson poured in 25 points to lead Union College to a 73-67 win over Ivy Tech Community College Friday at the Joe B. and Denny Classic.

The Classic is being held by Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Ind.

Since Ivy Tech is a two-year school, the win does not count toward Union's regular-season record. The Bulldogs will play their first official regular-season game Saturday against Mid-Continent (Ky.) University at 1 p.m.

Jackson (Jonesboro, Ark.) hit 9-of-18 shots from the field and went 6-for-6 at the foul line in posting a team-high 25 points. Josh Hurd (Independence, Ky.) added 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Jerome Carmichael (Newport, Tenn.) chipped in 10 points.

Union led 36-32 at the half and outscored Ivy Tech 37-35 in the second half en route to the 73-67 decision.
