BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union College football team will look to collect its first win of the season on Saturday as it will pay Shorter (Ga.) College a visit in a Mid-South Conference interdivisonal contest.
Game time is set for 1 p.m. in Rome, Ga.
Since reinstating football in 1984, this is only the Bulldogs' third trip to the state of Georgia. Union will be looking for better results this time around as it lost 41-7 to Georgia Southwestern in 1987 and 38-7 to West Georgia in 1994.
Union defeated Shorter 25-16 in the teams' only meeting back in 2005 in Barbourville, Ky. The Eagles, who are in their third year as a varsity program, are much improved from the 2005 season as they are 3-1 overall and ranked in the Top 30 in three different polls.
The Bulldogs are 0-4 overall.
