KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College jumped up a spot to 36th in this week's edition of the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 poll, the organization announced Tuesday.

Union went 1-0 last week after a 2-1 overtime victory over the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) on Wednesday. The victory sent the Lady Bulldogs to 5-0 on the season. For the last two seasons Union has started 5-0.

The Lady Bulldogs garnered 12 points in the poll after 19 the previous week which had Union 37th. Union was four points behind the University of Mobile (Ala.) and a point in front of the University of Science and Arts (Okla.). The Lady Bulldogs were the only team from the Appalachian Athletic Conference to receive votes in the poll.

California Baptist University collected all 23 first-place votes to hold onto the top spot. Concordia (Ore.) University slipped from No. 2 down to No. 5 this week. Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University, Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College and Lee (Tenn.) University all improved a spot from No. 2 to No. 4, respectively.

Union starts AAC play Wednesday with a trip to Bryan (Tenn.) College for a 5 p.m. match.

The next national poll will be released Sept. 29.
