KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College remains the No. 10 team in the NAIA, according to the  second regular-season NAIA Football Top 25 Coaches' Poll, the NAIA announced Monday.

The Bulldogs (2-1 overall, 1-0 Mid-South Conference East) picked up six more total points this week for a grand total 287. However, Union trails No. 9 Lambuth (Tenn.) University by 10 points.

The top eight teams all held their spots in the NAIA Top 25. The University of Sioux Falls (S.D.) was voted as the No. 1 program for the fifth straight poll earning 444 total points and 18 of the 19 first-place votes. The Sioux Falls defense has been getting the job done ranking first in the country in total defense (162.3 ypg) and rushing defense (31.0 ypg). The Cougars are 3-0 after a 42-19 defeat of then-No. 19 Hastings (Neb.) last Saturday. Looking to extend its nation-best 17 game winning streak, Sioux Falls travels to Concordia (Neb.) on Sept. 26.

Since the start of the 2008 season (in 17 games), Sioux Falls has surrendered just 12 touchdowns (10 passing, 2 rushing) and the defense has not surrendered a 100-yard rusher during the streak of 17 games. In fact, no rusher has tipped 50 yards. Just four opponents have reached 10 or more points during this stretch and Sioux Falls has held two opponents to negative yardage in total offense.

For the fifth straight time, Carroll (Mont.) is voted as the No. 2 team in the land after posting 427 total points and one first-place vote. Tied for the most wins in the country (4), Carroll has been listed in the poll for the last 108 times, which is the second longest active streak. Standing 116-13 since 2000, the Fighting Saints take on Montana Western on Saturday.

No. 3 Lindenwood (Mo.) earned 406 total points and has held at the third spot for the last five polls. Recently, Lindenwood took down then-No. 13 Missouri Valley, 45-37 on Saturday. The offense ranks No. 1 in the nation averaging 58.0 points per game.

Tallying 397 points this week, No. 4 St. Francis (Ind.) flexed its muscle with a 30-10 road win at then-No. 9 St. Ambrose (Iowa). St. Francis puts a 53-game home winning streak on the line this Saturday when Marian (Ind.) visits Fort Wayne, Ind.

With a 3-0 record, No. 5 Morningside (Iowa) notched 376 total points in the poll. The Mustangs scored a 72-0 victory over Dordt (Iowa) last weekend and has now won 13 of their last 15 games.

The next three teams to follow Morningside all held their spots from last week, No. 6 Cumberlands (Ky.), No. 7 MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) and No. 8 Langston (Okla.).

Union will travel to Georgetown (Ky.) College Thursday for a MSC East showdown. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Georgetown received 17 total points to come in 28th.
