BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Meredith Dambros became the first signee for the Union College women's tennis team under new head coach Daniel Finn.

Dambros comes to Union from Christian Academy of Louisville of Rock Creek. She has three years of high school tennis experience when she played at Evangel Christian School.

"We are excited to have Meredith here at Union," Finn commented. "I think she will be a valuable asset to our team."

Dambros has trained under former University of Louisville standout and coach Meg Peavy.

Union owns a 33-match winning streak over Appalachian Athletic Conference opponents, a span that covers the last four seasons.

"Meredith will bring a strong and hard work ethic into a program that is based on that," Finn added.

The Lady Bulldogs finished the 2009 season with a third straight appearance in the NAIA National Championship. Union posted an overall record of 13-4, the fourth straight season with at least 10 wins.
