BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College has added John Harp to the men's soccer and track and field teams starting this season.

Harp comes to Union from Henry County High School and Smithfield, Ky. He will be a forward and midfielder for the Bulldogs' soccer program.

"John is a nice player with a good work rate," Union men's soccer head coach Tyler Brock said. "I think John can definitely develop a lot here at Union with the team that we have coming back."

Union finished the 2008 season with a 10-5-4 record including a 9-0-2 home record. The Bulldogs finished sixth in the Appalachian Athletic Conference behind a 3-3-1 record before losing in the quarterfinals after a shootout.

The Union track and field team produced five All-Americans during the indoor and outdoor seasons along with the AAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
