BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College's latest signee for the 2009 men's soccer season was Gentry Hayes from Jackson City School.

He played forward and was a four-year varsity squad member.

"I am very happy to see Gentry joining our program here at Union," Tyler Brock, Union's head coach said. "He has a decent touch on the ball and seems to work very hard."

Union finished the 2008 season with a 10-5-4 record including a 9-0-2 home record. The Bulldogs finished sixth in the Appalachian Athletic Conference behind a 3-3-1 record before losing in the quarterfinals after a shootout.

"Gentry is going to be able to fit in very quickly here at Union," Brock added. "He is a great kid that has a good head on his shoulders. I look for him to really grow here over the next four years here."
