BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College has added Jake White to the men's soccer roster for the 2009 season.

White is a midfielder and defender from Port Orange, Fla. He played his prep career at Spruce Creek High and was a member of the Ormond Beach Soccer and Team Apollo club teams.

"Jake is going to be nice fit for our program here at Union," Union head coach Tyler Brock said. "He is an intelligent player that is always looking to make the proper play and get the ball forward out of the back."

Union finished the 2008 season with a 10-5-4 record including a 9-0-2 home record. The Bulldogs finished sixth in the Appalachian Athletic Conference behind a 3-3-1 record before losing in the quarterfinals after a shootout.

"He is very composed on the ball, and seems to handle pressure well also," Brock added. "I look for him to fit in both as a midfielder and a defender."
