HARROGATE, Tenn. - Union College dropped a pair of games at Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.) University Monday. The first game had a 3-1 score while game two saw a 8-4 result.
All three of Lincoln Memorial's runs came in the third inning of the opening game. Union made a run thanks to a run scored in the fifth frame. Lee Davis (Lexington, Ky.) scored as Suzannah Behnken (Tempe, Ariz.) reached first on a fielder's choice.
Bethany Outland (Hopkinsville, Ky.) had two of Union's five hits in the contest.
Sarah Driver (Hopkinsville, Ky.) struck out three Lady Railspliters over the six innings. She allowed three runs on four hits.
Brittany Stuive picked up the win thanks to seven innings and giving up an unearned run. She did not walk or strike out anyone. She also picked up the game-two victory in relief after 3.1 innings of shut out softball. Ashley Knight had a double which drove in two of LMU's runs.
Driver hit her third home run of the season in game two. It was one of her two hits in the contest. Alice Blauser (Hopkinsville, Ky.) added two more hits, however Outland recorded her second three-hit game of the season.
Abby Sears (London, Ky.) went six innings and allowed five earned runs on six hits.
Lincoln Memorial rallied for six runs in the fifth.
Mira McPeek went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and scored a run for Lincoln Memorial.
Union ends the regular season at 22-23 while Lincoln Memorial, a NCAA Division II squad, went to 17-25.
Next for the Lady Bulldogs is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament next week in Kingsport, Tenn.
