BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Paschal Glavinos Jr. is the newest edition for the Union College swim team. The Bullitt East high standout recently signed with the Bulldogs.

"I am happy to have Paschal joining our program," Union head coach Rafael Forti commented. "He brings in a lot of experience and will add much needed depth to our backstroke and relay events."

The newest Bulldog has been swimming for six years and favors the 100-yard backstroke and 100 butterfly events.

"The opportunity to swim for a very good club team speaks for the quality of training he has been exposed to for the past couple of years," Forti added. Gavinos Jr. was a part of the Cardinal Aquatics swim club.

Gavinos Jr. is a Mount Wasington, Ky. native and was a member of the Cardinal Aquatics swim club. He was coached by Amy Albiero and Paul Augustus.

Union finished the 2009 NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships in tenth after a third-place finish at the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championship.
