BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College has signed Steven Young to be a part of the men's soccer team starting in 2009.

Young, a midfielder, comes to the Bulldogs from Clarksville, Tenn. and Northeast High School.

"Steven is a smart player with good vision," said Union head coach Tyler Brock. "He likes to get others involved with his play and that is something we really like about him."

He was a captain at Northeast and the Kaos Soccer Club team. Young also received all-district honors.

"I am excited to see him join our Union College family and I think he is going to be a great fit here at Union both on and off the soccer field," Brock added.

Union finished the 2008 season with a 10-5-4 record including a 9-0-2 home record. The Bulldogs finished sixth in the Appalachian Athletic Conference behind a 3-3-1 record before losing in the quarterfinals after a shootout.
